Joker Stand Alone Movie By Martin Scorsese
We are going to see yet another iteration of the greatest comic book villain soon. Not only that, but we even get it from one of the greatest film makers of our time, Martin Scorsese. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, WB is in the early stages of a new Joker stand alone origin story. Attached to the movie are names like Scorsese, Todd Phillips, and Scott Silver. Phillips is to direct the film and co-write a script with Silver, while producing with Scorsese.
The flick is supposed to take place outside of the current DCEU and create a place for more one-shot stories outside of the cinematic universe. Placing this property outside should give many opportunities for the story route. I would love to see what they could do without being held down by the need to fit in with a larger universe.
They have stated that this will be a gritty 80s story, comparing it to movies like 'Taxi Driver". After the controversial performance by Jared Leto in 'Suicide Squad", fans of the character are hungry for more. The Joker is a terrifying maniac with insane intentions. Hopefully we will get a great look into the origin of the Clown Prince of Crime.
