First off, this is one of those movies that makes you think, “oh my gosh, The Rock can literally do anything.” And that thought is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Moana was thoughtful and heartwarming with a soundtrack that makes those twofold.

I don’t have many complaints about this one so I’ll start with the bad. My only main issue with the film was that I really didn’t like the character of Tamatoa. To me, the whole, “shiny” sequence just didn’t fit and it felt very out of place in the film. Beyond that, I had a great time with this movie!

So with that, let’s talk about all of my favorite things in this film! Like the rest of the world, I couldn’t help but blast the sound track in the car after watching the movie.you know the music has to be great whenever even Dwayne Johnson sang one of my favorite songs of the film. Now to the story; like many recent Disney animated films, this flick greatly captured my emotions. I felt very attached to the characters and Moana was a protagonist worth rooting for.

Along with the compelling story, Moana was voiced by an incredibly talented singer, Auli'i Cravalho. Her talent greatly raised the quality of this film, granting it some of the catchiest music of recent films for the studio.

On a separate note, Dwayne Johnson just keeps crushing it. With one of the busiest schedules in Hollywood, he manages to put out some of the most entertaining films faster than anybody else in the business. While this one impressed me more than some of his other recent films, I can only expect more excellent movies coming soon from The Rock.

Back to Moana; Overall, this is a movie that I could not recommend enough! This is a flick that will warm your heart and put music in your head for days to come.

I give Moana an 8.3/10
